FAQ
How does it work?
I will work with your family’s schedule to set up twice-weekly coaching sessions with your child. Each session will last 30 minutes, and will cover a range of academic and social topics. (for more specifics, check out What do I provide?)
In addition, parents/guardians will have an hour to work with Jill each month. This conversation will focus on your child’s progress and challenges. The more you can fill me in on what’s going on in your child’s life, the more targeted coaching I can provide to them.
How long does it last? What if we just want one or two sessions?
This is subtle work with long-term results: in order to create those results it is expected that families agree to a minimum of 3 months’ coaching. Ideally, I will work with you and your child for the duration of the school year, navigating them through the highs and lows of academic and social development.
Why should I consider coaching?
You should consider coaching because quite simply, it works. This work is designed for high-functioning families who want as many people on their “team” as possible. Middle and high school years are the time to rally around our children and provide them with as many tools for their emotional, academic, and social toolkits as we can. Coaching reveals new insights, supports growth, and activates hidden strengths. Your child will learn how it feels to thrive.
What if I don’t live in the greater Boston area?
No problem! Jill works via phone and Zoom, so there’s no need for in-person meetings.
Can we meet in person?
Contact Jill directly for more detail on this.
How much does it cost?
My coaching rate is on a sliding scale; please contact me directly for details.
What about school breaks and vacations? Do we have to pay for those weeks?
I will work with your schedule to ensure continuity with your child’s academic and social successes. Contact me directly for more details.
I need help working with my child’s teachers. Can you help?
Yes, it’s one of my specialties. School liaison work will be billed separately from our regular coaching package.
My child was recently diagnosed with executive function disorder/ADD/ADHD/etc. Can you help?
I don’t provide diagnosis-specific therapies, but I have experience with working with a wide range of challenges and strengths. This sort of coaching should serve as a supplement to doctor-prescribed therapies, NOT a replacement. We can discuss this further in our introductory conversation.
